iSort doc

I’m working on the doc, that’s why it is unavailable. It will be back tonight.

iSort V1.11

Since I’ve finished iSort V1.1, I’ve seen little things, I’ve read you’re posts, so I’ve decided to send a V1.11 immediately. It fixes little bugs in iSort, and some issues in the web server. UTF8 CSV files are know fully recognized.

iSort V1.1 is out

They where quick, this time.

Please let me know what do you think about this V1.1, and obviously if you found any bug.

I hope you’ll enjoy iSort V1.1

[Edit]I was caught off guard by Apple speed, therefore documentation is out of date. I will update it this week-end.

If you want to import CSV files into iSort, the wright encoding is “Windows Latin 1″. iSort should accept UTF8 as well, though, but it does not.

iSort V1.1

I’ve sent iSort to Apple, at last !

  • Bug fixes
  • Speed optimisation
  • New Date fields
  • New Numeric fields
  • New keyboard for specials fields (telephone, mail, web)
  • Field type can be changed on the run
  • New optional two fields display
  • New “proposal system”
  • ‘Edit’ button to switch between view and edit mode
  • asc/desc sort
  • Better english localization
  • built-in web server

Built-in web server… That’s why iSort is late. When I started to think about CSV import/export, I wonder how to access iSort data from the computer. My idea was to put a web server inside iSort. iSort web server is based on cocoahttpserver, modified to run a dynamic site. Then, I wrote the iSort built-in internet site, in ajax.

To access iPhone web server, choose a database, push the “network” button at the bottom of the screen, then push the “Start the server” button. That’s it, iSort is a web server ! On your computer, launch your internet browser, and enter the iPhone IP address (displayed by iSort). Then enjoy the mini iSort site :)

You can display, modify, add and delete records. Two extra tabs allows to import and export CSV files.

In my opinion, this built-in web site is the best solution :

  • No need to install anything on the computer
  • It works on Mac, PC, Linux
  • The built-in web site will be upgrated with iSort
  • You can access your data with every wifi computer.

So, yes, I’m very late, but I think it’s well worth the trouble ;)

To Andreas : I wanted to include german (an italian) translations, but I think it was best to publish this V1.1 first. I will send you a mail.

So, where is iSort ?

I’m starting to feel quite an impatience for iSort 1.1, and I can understand that.

Don’t worry, iSort is not far away. I’m late because of my work, my family, and generally because septembre and october are busy months. Besides, I certainly wanted to put too many things in this V1.1. In the future, there will be updates more often, but with less modifications.

iSort will be completed this week. It takes approximately one week for Apple to validate apps, so you’ll have to wait another ten days or so.

Sneak peak

iSort V1.1 development is still in progress, but the release is close. For the impatients, here are some snapshots, and a little movie. Those are not the only upgrades ;)

17574 records… with a little help from a CSV file

Date field

Enhanced display

Proposals…

Language

When you upload an application to the Store, you are asked to write a main description in your language, and you can add localizations. For Judo and iSort, the main description is in french, because it is my mother tongue, and I’ve add an english localization. The result is that if you’re not American, you get the french description. Even English (UK) people get the french description, and that’s silly !

I don’t know if I can reverse that, in order to give english description for the world, and french localization for French people. I will try.

[Edit :]OK, I figured it out, the Store makes a difference between English, UK English, Canadian English and Australian English… I’ve add a description for UK English, Canadian English and Australian English, it should be online in a couple of hours.

[Edit 2 :]This thursday morning, descriptions have been updated in all stores. I’ve localized snapshots too, let’s wait again…

iSort V1.0 is out

It’s out. Finally.

Please come back tomorrow for the documentation. I’ll try to write an english version.

The documentation is available.

iSort V1.0

iSort is a software I’ve been working on since the begining of august. It’s mostly because of it Judo and Tarots have been put aside for a while, sorry for that.

The idea is to make an application as easy to use as Contacts, but with the ability to manage informations and datas on every subject.

In short, iSort is a database manager.

From the creation of your databases to the records management, everything is done on the iPhone.

I’ve spent a lot of time on the interface, to make it as simple and easy as possible. By the way, it will be available in french and english.

I’ve uploaded iSort a few days ago, it should be available soon. Because of the work spent on this app, I’ve decided to sell it 3,99€. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

You can create as many databases as you want.

You can create as many fields as you want. Those fields can be text fields, picture fields or checkbox fields.

Judo V1.2 is out

Judo V1.2 is available today. If there isn’t any bug, I don’t think it will evolve any more, because in my opinion it does whatever it is supposed to. Now, if you have some brilliant idea, please feel free to write a comment, or a mail :)
